What amazes you?

Posted on Jan 2nd, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 02, 2008:

As a result of reading the book "Is your genius at work?" by Dick Richards. . . I discerned or discovered that my genius is Discovering Magic.
The world / life is filled with magic when we open ourselves to experiencing it.
Falling snow
A bright clear night with a beautiful moon
Stars
Fireworks
A baby's laugh
music that resonates with your heart
a movie that moves you
a hug
a kiss
a smile right when you needed one
I am amazed by the microwave oven and how it works as I am the TV, the computer, an IPOD, XBOX, Plane, Car, the human body and the brain. . .
I am amazed and in awe each time I think about the love I feel for my dad, my mom, my son, my god son and his little brother. . .
I am amazed that I survived through the chapters of my life that I have come through.

Like a Lord of the Rings saga. . . I have battled the demons, the monsters, and wizards and I am still on my journey!!
I was not defeated!
That is amazing!

I did not succumb to drugs and alcohol even though many of my peers and family did...why did I not?
I did not succumb to the mundane life of complacency... why not?

I am amazed by the possibilities in the human life to change the world when we are ready to.

Gandhi proved it is possible
Kennedy, Roosevelt, and Martin Luther king proved it is possible

The Dalai lama, Nelson Mandela, Marianne Williamson, Oprah, and others are proving today that it is POSSIBLE. . . That is AMAZING!!!

How do you keep from feeling depressed during the hoildays?

Posted on Jan 2nd, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 28, 2007:

There was a time when the holidays would be a time that I felt lonely, or stressed.  At some point I just made a decision that I wanted to feel better and with that statement and decision, I started doing more stuff to keep me engaged in life versus separate from it.
I use to feel sad and grieve dead family and friends but now that I understand that they are not "gone". . . I can still express my love for and with them.
I can focus on giving and helping and serving during the holidays instead of getting lost in the consumerism that often shadows the love of the holidays.

What's your favorite way to meet people?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 06, 2008:

Dscf0474
I would say that I most enjoy meeting people in odd unusual ways centered around joy and laughter. Let me explain with an example.... Whenever I go to NYC (where keep in mind the people are labeled as rude and mean) I like to do things that are unexpected like open the door for people, let someone in line in front of me, compliment their hat or shirt, I sing in the street or dance on a lightpost, I do a split near a bull statue (lol), and people liven up...
their resistance and fears dissolve as they see someone who is willing to be vulnerable and different.  Once we are then smiling and laughing together the whole universe shifts toward harmony and love.

"And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -- Course in Miracles

Playing in the falling snow, seeing Wali (my landlord's dog) playing or petting him and making the leg twitch, hanging out with my Godson and seeing him laugh, listening to music, walking the streets of NYC, making people laugh, painting and drawing, cuddling, feeling a cool breeze on a warm day . . .

Are you a creature of habit?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 04, 2008:

I am not as much a creature of habit as I once was. . .
I do however still have some habits in how I do things.
In general I do you appreciate many of the routines in my life, however I look forward to when I manifest more freedom to create the exact routines I want especially with work.
I do you have a certain way you like to do things in terms of cleaning the house, writing my book or sermons or doing homework, or doing my art work.  I also enjoy particular patterns or rituals such as when I practice martial arts, when I arrive home and light my incense and a candle on my altar.

I am not a slave to my habits as I once was. . . I have greater freedom in creating them.
(most of them lol)

What does it take for someone to earn your trust?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 03, 2008:

In general I would say that I am far more of a trusting person than not.
I see people more as inherently good and positive and my cautions do not pop up usually until the person says or does something that signals a yellow or red flag.
If someone makes derogatory or judgemental remarks.... caution.
If the person is a conservative burn in hell bible thumping Christian.... caution.
If the person is pessimistic and likes being a victim... caution.
If the person is not a good listener of communicator....caution.

How long does it take you to feel comfortable around strangers?
The answer depends on the setting and the particular stranger.
Some strangers have a vibe that is instantly welcoming while others have a force field of thorns and steel and armed guards keeping others at bay.

I am much more willing to be "me" and so I am more trusting, loving, and comfortable.
If I do not trust someone it does not reflect them so much as it reflects ME.
What is it in me that I do not trust or that is not trustworthy?

To be trusting I must first be trustworthy
To be comfortable around others I must first be someone who is comforting of self and others. . . .

What does it mean to be in relationship?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 27, 2007:

Being in a relationship simply means recognizing that we are all connected.  What I do to one, I do to all.
What I do to myself, I am also doing to others.
I cannot love another if I do not love myself.
I cannot listen to you if I do not listen to me.

Relationship is the manner in which we interact with self and with others and with Spirit (which is in self and others anyway)

I may not be "friends" with the gang bangers on the corner but I do have a relationship with them.  I may not ever personally interact with them face to face, but I have a relationship with them.
If in my mind and heart I am thinking and feeling how useless they are, how much I dislike them being there, how afraid I am of them, or how I wish the cops would remove them. . . I am intimately related to them in my consciousness.  And in fact I am sending out energy which is aiding in keeping them there doing what they are doing.  Talk about catch 22.
I could choose to relate to them by sending them love, light, and awareness of the Divine.
My relationship to them could be one of support and affirmation -Even though we never speak face to face!

What is my relationship to the people in China, Africa, Canada?
What is my relationship to the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran?
What is my relationship to the President?
What is my relationship to the gay community, to Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, to nature, to the Earth, to my own body...

Just as a husband and wife relate first in their mind and heart and then it manifests into the physical plane. . .
How do I relate to you and everything and everyone else in my heart and mind?

That is what it means to be in a relationship...

What is shifting in your thinking?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 26, 2007:

My former beliefs about what God is, are changing.
I no longer see God as the judging, condemning, conflicted being of the Bible and Christianity.
I no longer see myself as separate from God or mankind.
I am still seeking the metaphysical explanation of the Bible.
I have been looking into to the Unity church's beliefs as well as Science of Mind.
Recently after watching Zeitgeist the movie (look it up and check it out) I have decided that a shift in mass consciousness is needed otherwise we just might be returning to a new Hitler and Nazi regime. . .
I have been working on my own mind in terms of releasing fear and embracing love, embracing peace, embracing unity and harmony.

There are still things I wrestle with especially when I encounter those who think like I once did. . .
I find it difficult at times to explain the devil, Satan, Lucifer and other biblical things in metaphysical ways. . .
But then I remember that it is not my job to convince them.
I need only work on MY beliefs and live according to my beliefs and thoughts.

What message do you have for the world today?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 25, 2007:

Don't just Wake up. . .
You can passively lie in bed awake doing nothing.

Don't just Get up. . .
You can sit on the edge of the bed contemplating laying back down, yet still doing nothing.

Don't just Stand up. . .
It is so easy to stand and pace and yet still be doing nothing.

But you do have to start somewhere.
Wake up and see the the potential you have to make a change... You as an individual!
History is filled with single men and women who have changed the world.

Get up and begin to prepare for action.  Start setting your intentions and affirmations so that your consciousness begins calling forth from the ether into the physical plane what you desire and intend for the world.

Stand up and face your fears eye to eye!
Stand up for yourself when you feel that reminder of what being a victim is like.
Stand up and get into action and DO what must be done.

We have more power than we can imagine. . . start now tapping into the Divine Love that is available and the world will change to match our consciousness!

Want to end war?  Fill your mind with peace
Want to end world hunger?  Fill your mind with abundance
Want to end hatred? Fill your mind with Love

Do that as an individual in all places, in all ways, in all situations... and the Universe will respond by manifesting the heart of your desire.

And so it is!!

What's your ideal working situation?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 27, 2007:

Ideally for me I desire music in the background, I desire wide open space to move and be creative, I desire natural sunlight coming in from as many windows as possible, a door so I can be alone when I desire to be and depending on the project - alone is preferred.  I mean if I am painting, I do not need a partner with me.  If I am working on a new theater piece, a production team would be cool.

My ideal working environment looks like a Zen temple.
There are huge ceilings and wide open spaces, light, there are several areas where I can move freely from typing to painting to sculpting to dancing to shooting photos, to doing martial arts to resting on a comfortable sofa. . .
I have bonsai and all manner of plants, music, an altar, polished hard wood floors and carpet in some areas, a waterfall, stereo system with all the music I could ever want.. . .

And with all of this I am a thousand times more creative and doing exactly want I want to do!

What determines a good education?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 28, 2007:

A good education involves a holistic approach.
My design of the ideal system would address the student as a holistic spiritual being having a human experience.  There would be courses that are central to having a healthy body, mind, and spirit.
I would include such classes as developing affirmative self esteem, martial arts, yoga, health and nutrition. . .
Characteristics of a "good" or effective educations include first and foremeost that the person is capable of "thinking". . .and "taking responsibility"

That the person is able to see something or hear something and think for himself or herself and decide what is most beneficial for him/her versus taking what they are told and simply following it because they were told.

2+2=4 is important but so is valuing yourself as a person, so is knowing your mission and reason for being, so is knowing how to be healthy and make health choices, and knwing that you are responsible for your life, you are responsible for what you co-create.

Being happy would be different for each person. .. some would be happy by being loved, having money, a bigger house, etc. . . But being happy is the goal.

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 02, 2007:

Solitude gives me time to contemplate, process, meditate, assess, and evaluate my life on several levels.
Like Superman's Fortress of Solitude. . . I have a time or place where I can go for guidance and assistance when I feel off, discouraged, overwhelmed.
In that place of solitude I can recharge and take to the skies again doing what I am meant to do. . . as a "super" man.

What role do dreams play in your life?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 05, 2007:

More often than not I do remember my dreams though lately I have only been remembering parts of them.
My dreams have been important to me since I was in middle school.
Long before I was into "understanding" my dreams I used them as a source of inspiration for my drawings and paintings.  then later as I delved more into their symbolic and archetypal meanings. . . I found a new source of inspiration that could help me in life not just in art.
Now as I am working on my PhD in metaphysics one of the courses is specifically about dream interpretation and understanding your dreams. . . I am seeing them even more as a source of empowerment and growth.

Do you pay much attention to what others think of you?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 06, 2007:

I care what others think BUT am not dependent upon it as I use to be.
there was a time when I FEARED what others MIGHT think....
That shadow pops up every now and then but it does not stay as long as it one did.
As a child I learned to be a good co-dependent self abusive victim and in that one of the tools of my torture was the attitudes and thoughts others had of me.
I am thankful to have shed that need and to have moved into the light of love where I know that no matter what others think it is more a reflection of them than of me.
I am inherently good as a child of God and as a part of God made manifest in human form.
I am love made manifest and am perfect just as I am.
With that knowledge what does it really matter what someone thinks?  LOL

However, as a human I do want to be liked, loved, and appreciated and so I do my best to live in alignment with my mission because when I live in harmony with Spirit love and light will be the result and people will move in and out of my life just as they are meant to. . .

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 07, 2007:

I think the best way to answer your questions would be to state my purpose and reason for being - - -  "My purpose is to use my sense of humor and magic to empower and instruct other to love and live in harmony."

"My reason for being is to create, to communicate and to inspire empowerment and magic in men, women, and children of the world."

What do you believe in? Love
What cause, or causes, do you support? Harmony
What would you devote your life to, if you could, or what do you wish others would pay a bit more attention to? Love and harmony

Posted on Jan 20th, 2008 by Sigung Hikari : I Am . . . Sigung Hikari
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 20, 2008:

In light of my recent "dilemma" as I reassess my goals and aspirations. . .
I have been wondering what would make me feel better, if there was something that could be said or given that would do so... and then I realize that in all honesty and deep down I am all ready "better" and that nothing need be added or taken away. . .

There are things that on a more physical level would add comfort and ease, there are things on a relational level that would add more community and social activity. . . etc.
And yet despite those "things" that I could name... I return to my initial statement that all in all I AM better now!

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 19, 2008:

Good? I do my best to not judge and referring to something as "good" judges one thing over the other... for if there is a good there must be a bad. . .
But for the sake of conversation I will play along.
A good neighborhood is one in which I enjoy my time.
It is one with trees and grass and flowers.
it has conveniences of stores and shopping.
It has friendly and supportive people.
Places of education and worship.
It is inhabited by loving and spiritually conscious people who take responsibility for self and the environment. . .

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 18, 2008:

I don't wish....
Wishing tends to be empty and void of action.
People say, "I wish I had a better job." but that person rarely does something to manifest the job.
Wishing is dangerously seductive because many think they are doing something like goal setting by wishing. . . . intending is much more proactive than wishing.

I intend. . .!!
